Here’s why you should never throw out potato peels

Potato is one of the basic foods in our diet. Its nutritional input, if consumed in the right combination, is exceptional. Here’s why you should never throw out potato peels!

According to studies conducted over the years, potato is a medicine, as long as it is not roasted. Right next to white bread, potatoes are on the list of forbidden foods when you want to get rid of an excess of pounds. Consumed without anything else they can be considered a therapeutic ally of your body.

However, it should be noted that most of the nutrients are in their peel, that almost every time, is thrown out. No matter the color of the peelt, from white to purple, it shouldn’t be thrown, but washed well and consumed.

High antioxidant content – In the potato peel there are a number of flavonoids that, once they arrive in the body, offer you a real antioxidant and antitumoral action. And that’s because of the rich content of complex B vitamins, dietary fiber and phenolic compounds.
Potato peel can be used to make tea, indicated to be consumed on an empty stomach, or as a cataplasm.

The properties of potato peel

Take 3 medium potatoes, wash them thoroughly, carefully peel them, and then put the resulting peels to boil for a maximum of 10 minutes. Then filter the tea, let it cool and drink 2-3 cups every day if you want to benefit from its anti-tumor and anti-rheumatic effects. In addition, this tea will also give you a remineralizing effect due to the magnesium, potassium, and iron content.

Used in the form of a hot cataplasm,  apply it on the joints affected by rheumatism, or on eczema or wounds.  Will improve healing. And that’s because potatoes are rich in active substances.
