The dangers behind gel manicures

Gel manicures are very popular among women. Many ladies opt for gel nails because they are much more durable and don’t need to be redone in   just a few days. If from an aesthetic point of view the nails look flawless, the specialists warn of the dangers that can be hidden behind the gel manicures.

The neat look of the nails is essential for every woman, but because the time is limited, many of them choose the solutions that provide them a flawless manicure with a longer period of time.

The gel manicure looks great for several weeks, but after doing more studies, the researchers discovered that the gel used can lead to allergies. The chemicals in gel manicure products can cause severe rashes and itching. If at first problems can occur only in the area of the nails, there are serious cases in which the allergy extends to the eyelids, face and even the genitals area.

Studies conducted by specialists have shown that such allergies appear more and more often in the European space and that about 93% of women face such problems. The risks are much higher when the gel manicure is done outside a specialized salon, specifically at home.

It is very important for people to know that they can develop allergies because of gel nails. The truth is that many women have these allergies, but they are not diagnosed because the symptoms don’t appear on the nail, said doctor David Orton.

When such an allergy occurs, the nails may change their appearance, itching, but swelling of the hands may occur.
